Documents Accepted from Sri Lanka
| Purpose | Accepted documents | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | National Identity Card (old or new format), passport or driving licence | Must be valid and show your full name |
| Proof of address | Utility bill or bank statement | Recent, no older than 3 months, showing your name and address |
| Payment proof | Screenshot of your eZ Cash, mCash or bank app | Must show your name and the wallet number or account number |
| Selfie with ID | A photo of you holding your identity document | Only if requested |
Not every item on the table is going to require an account to be provided. The verification page in your cashier will tell you precisely what documents are required for your account so simply follow that list and upload only what it's asking for in the way it's asking for it.
How to Upload Your Documents
- Enter your personal details into your profile exactly as they appear on your National Identity Card (including the spelling of your name and your date of birth).
- Open the Verification section of your account.
- Select the type of document you'd like to upload (for example identity or proof of address).
- Photograph both sides of the document in good light with it on a flat plain surface.
- Upload the photos in that same section and make sure each file is attached before you click confirm.
- Just wait for the status to change and then check your email and SMS for the results.
If you're asked for any additional documentation then please do so in the same verification section rather than creating a new request. That way everything remains attached to one case.
Photo Rules That Avoid Rejection
- Keep all four corners of the document in the frame.
- Don't have glare on the laminated National Identity Card by tilting it slightly away from the light.
- Do not use any filters or edits of any kind on the photo.
- Make sure the text is readable when the image is zoomed in.
- Just check the document hasn't expired.
- Make sure the name matches your profile and your payment account.
A rejected upload resets the wait time so it's absolutely worth getting the photo right the first time and taking a moment to check each file before you send it.
How Long Verification Takes
In our test accounts verification took up to 24 hours after a full upload. It takes longer if documents are missing or a photo is unreadable (in which case it goes back to you and the wait starts again). A weekend backlog can also add to the time taken so a request sent on a Friday evening might not be processed until the following Monday. If verification has been carried out but your withdrawal is still stuck then you should follow the steps on the withdrawal pending page.
What Happens to Your Data
Your docs are sent to the operator (who is based outside Sri Lanka and is not licensed by the SLGRA) so local data protection remedies may be very limited. Think carefully before you upload anything and consider whether you're comfortable with that. If you do go ahead, bear those points in mind.
- Upload documents only inside your own logged-in account.
- Never send documents by chat apps, or to people who claim to be "agents".
- Keep a note of which documents you sent and when, so you can refer to it later.
FAQ
- Q01Can I verify with the new digital NIC?
Possibly, depending on what the verification page accepts for your account. The National Identity Card is listed as an accepted identity document, in both old and new formats. If you only have the digital version, check the verification section for a note on whether it is accepted before you upload, and follow what it says.
- Q02Do I need to verify before my first deposit?
Usually not. Verification is normally required before your first withdrawal, or after a large one, rather than before a deposit. You can still verify early to avoid payout delays later, and the verification section of your account shows what is requested for you.
- Q03Why was my verification rejected?
The most common reason is a photo problem, such as a cut-off corner, glare, unreadable text or an expired document. Another is a name that does not match your profile. Check the photo rules above, fix the cause and upload the document again in the same section.
